When I was young, one of my favorite places to go was Riverfront Park in Spokane, Washington. I lived there off and on from the time I was a baby until I was around 13 years old and we moved to Wyoming. My sisters and I would spend a lot of time at my Grandparent’s house in the summer, and she would take us to the park many times. They had lot of rides, an arcade, an IMAX theater, gondolas and my favorite, the Looff Carousel. The carousel began operation in 1909 in Spokane and just this year they opened the new carousel building, which I have yet to visit (hopefully this year we will be making a trip to visit my Grandparents!). My favorite part about the ride, aside from the beautiful horses and choosing which one I wanted to ride, was catching little rings from a dispenser and trying to get the gold ring to win a free ride. You would then throw the rings in a clown’s mouth when you got off the ride.
I took a few photos of some of the horses when I was visiting there about five years ago. Here are some of my favorites!
