When I was 13 years old, my family and I traveled from Sheridan, Wyoming to the coast of North Carolina. We stopped along the way in Lexington, Kentucky and briefly visited the Kentucky Horse Park. We didn’t stay but for a couple hours, and I remember I bought a postcard. I always promised myself to go back someday for a proper visit, and on our way to Washington D.C I got the chance!
I had originally planned to spend a full day at the park, but we adjusted our schedule and ended up only spending a few hours there. But I got to see tons, including the Arabian Horse Museum which is inside of the Museum of the Horse, Raelynn got to experience her very first horseback ride on the back of a pony, and we got to see a few prior champions. Unfortunately it was super hot and so I really couldn’t wait to get back to the air conditioning of the car and hit the road, but it was a great trip nonetheless!
